Sleep Cycle Monitor

Using the ZZZ checker, a sleep analysis gadget, patients who exhibit symptoms of a nocturnal sleep related disorder can now monitor and analyze their nightly sleep patterns at home in a method similar to that used by some hospital sleep disorder centers. Spec Computer, a Japanese company, has come out with a device that logs your night time sleep pattern without having to attach any equipment to the body.

Snoring, teeth grinding, tossing and turning are all captured via the recording microphone and an infrared motion sensor which then converts the information into an easy to read graphical format. The user can then determine what percentage of their nightly sleep consists of light, medium and deep sleep.

The ZZZ checker includes analytical software that can be installed on a personal computer for a more in depth analysis. You can buy this gadget through the Japan Trend Shop for $248. Of course, it’s important to mention that although users now have access to highly valuable information, the ZZZ Checker should not be considered a replacement for treatment provided by a family doctor or any other health professional.
