Microsoft Zune HD

To the delight of many, Zune HD officially went on sale today and it appears that Microsoft has big plans for its handheld device to better compete with Apple.

Microsoft has indicated that the Zune HD comes with some games preinstalled. However, the big news is that they plan to introduce “fun 3D games” the likes of Audiosurf Tilt, Project Githam Racing: Ferrari Edition and Vans Sk8: Poll Service.

Consumers will also have the ability to stream HD video to their Xbox 360 as well as buy or rent digital movies and TV shows.

Additionally, Microsoft plans to introduce Facebook and Twitter applications that are compatible with the Zune in the coming months as well as work with third party vendors to increase the amount of software available through the application marketplace.
