XM Canada has followed Sirius Canada by releasing their own Apple iPhone/iPod Touch application. The application is being released as a free download through the Canadian iTunes app store, but in order to use it, you will be charged a $2.99 per month surcharge when bundled with an XM satellite radio subscription or $7.99 for XM online+ subscribers.
With the XM online+ app, digital radio subscribers will have access to 100 channels of news, sports (NHL Home Ice/MLB Home plate), commercial free music as well as a variety of niche programming.
The first time you use the application, you will be authenticated by your network username and password, but once you’ve successfully logged in, using the application is quite straightforward as it is menu driven.
