If Swedish designers Jens Andersson and Jonas Forsman have there way, there will soon be a new way to drink wine….in a pop can. It sure doesn’t sound like an elegant means of drinking wine. Pop the can and then what? How are you supposed to sniff the cork…wait a minute, there is no cork. Can you sniff the pull tab? How about winos who used to hold their bottles in brown paper bags, won’t the cans just fall if their not held properly as they don’t have an easy to hold neck?
Oh I know wine purists just aren’t going to go for this, as there is an art to drinking wine. Heck, it’s wine, not a common every day drink like beer. However, these wine cans are available to any wine company interested in pioneering this new mode of delivery.
So far there have been no takers for this device, but you just have to wonder what a little marketing would do for this product. Some of the strangest products have just taken off with the right advertising campaign.
