The Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series emulator was released earlier this week with the new development tools, but this was a crippled version with the original ROM only providing limited access to the web browser (Internet Explorer) and the “settings”.
Dan Ardelean from the Mobile Development blog wanted more then just the default restricted access and within six hours, he managed to unlock “the ROM image in the emulator CTP,” thereby offering a glimpse into the interfaces and screens that have not been made publicly available just yet.
Though Ardelean has removed the hacked bin in fear of any reprisal from Microsoft, a series of short videos by TechAU do give us an intimate view of the phone functionality.
