Microsoft is placing a lot of emphasis on Windows Phone 7 as its answer to Android and iOS and though we’ve heard quite a bit about the Microsoft operating system (OS), little has been offered up about possible release dates. With talks of Microsoft employees receiving a free WP7 handset and other hints that have been circulating, it was suspected that the launch date would be sooner rather then later.
The best hint that we have now is that Europe will first see WP7 in October and this will be followed by the US in November. The latest information comes by way of Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s COO, who revealed the information during a recent presentation. We’re roughly 60 days away before the beginning of October so it shouldn’t be to much longer before we see the Redmond company begin officially revealing detailed plans about the launch of WP7.
