Windows 7 Mobile

There hasn’t been any news from Microsoft about their latest version of Windows Mobile OS, so it’s up to the rumor mill to keep things interesting while we wait. Windows Mobile 7 — or “Seven,” as it will be called — should be an interesting upgrade to what many believe to be one of Microsoft’s strongest software asset.

One of the rumors say that Seven will come in two versions — the Business and Media Edition. Of course, these name changes are a strong possibility once the mobile operating system is released. The Business Edition will be coming out first, and it’s going to be a sort of “Windows Mobile Lite” version. It can supposedly cloud-sync on multiple devices, and even embed a photo you just snapped on an online document that other users can access through a network connection.

The other version, the Media Edition, might take another year or so to come out. If the rumors are to be believed, it will feature Silverlight, Xbox Live, Twitter, Mediaroom, Facebook, and Zune Music integration features, with still more to come.

We’ll likely be seeing Seven first on the touchscreen LG Apollo, a 3.8-inch multitouch device with a 10-MP camera, a 1.3GHz Qualcomm processor, and 1GB of RAM.
