When it comes to the Willcom Kuma Bear Cell Phone, there’s only one thing to say. Throw practicality out the window. This cell phone made it’s debut at the 2008 Good Design Expo where PHS mobile provider Willcom unveiled their Kuma Cell Phone.

The Kuma (bear) phone is an oversized stuffed bear that can be used to make and receive phone calls. According to reports, although it may look silly to hold a bear to your ear, the Kuma Phone was well received at the Good Design Expo. Instead of targeting clients who value miniaturization and features, this phone was targeted towards those in search of cuteness.

The phone will have a couple of features such as the ability to retain four speed dial numbers. You may wonder how you activate the speed dial number and of course, for the sake of cuteness, the speed dial numbers are activated by pressing one of the paws of the bear as each paw stores one number.

Other features of this phone include ringtones and vibrations to announce incoming calls and the ability to disconnect calls by squeezing the tail.

Still a concept phone, but should it hit the markets, retail pricing is expected to be in the $500 range.
