Why do babies cry? Dirty diapers that need to be changed, perhaps your infant is hungry, sleepy or is just plain bored and needs stimulation. For young parents, it’s always a challenge to try and determine why junior is crying. A few days ago we came across an Apple iPhone app called iSurgeon for those interested in DIY plastic surgery so why shouldn’t there be an Apple iPhone application that helps parents with raising children.
Is there anything the iPhone can’t do? The application is known as Cry Translator and according to it’s developers, it is able to distinguish between the five most common types of crying sounds that a baby makes so that you can tell if your baby is mad, tired, hungry, bored or stressed. This sounds a lot like that Simpsons Episode “Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?” where Homer’s brother created a gadget that translated baby babble.
Take the application with a grain of salt but the developers do reference a recent study that concluded a 96% accuracy rate with this application. $9.99 is what it will cost for the software download and you can then confirm the accuracy for yourself.
