Getting up in the morning and putting money aside for a rainy day are two things that can be a challenge. What if each morning when you wake up, you could put a little bit of money aside for a rainy day? What if you were forced to do this?

Dreams Japan has come up with a solution to accomplish both tasks with their Dreams Ban Clock. Once the alarm rings in the morning, the only way to turn it off is by feeding it coins. The Ban Clock takes coins of all currency and if you elect to pay it 25 cents a day to shut off, you could end up with $25 in savings when the clock is full and needs to be emptied.

a cool addition to this concept would be to display on the face of the clock a random amount of money needed to turn it off. If it says $0.29, then you need to insert exactly that amount (over the course of the week averaging whatever amount you specified).

That would certainly make this a fun gadget and add an extra layer of difficulty because you’d have to make sure you have the right amount of change before you go to sleep. That would be interesting.
