Whitehouse.gov Releases Own Apple iPhone App

It’s no secret that President Obama and the Democratic party won the last US election by a landslide largely due to his campaign’s Internet presence. People liked the idea of a transparent White House, and Obama was keen about reaching out to the American people even after the campaign had ended. It’s been a year coming, but the Whitehouse now has its own iPhone/iPod App.

With the Whitehouse.gov App, iPhone and iPod Touch users can now stay in touch with the latest updates from the White House, getting real-time content as it gets uploaded to the Whitehouse.gov website. What’s cool about the App is that it also live video streaming direct from the White House, which means you can now watch President Obama’s events and addresses in real-time, as they happen.

Speaking of which, the Whitehouse.gov iPhone App will let you witness the State of the Union address, next week. Should be interesting to see whether the App will bring more followers to the Whitehouse homepage, and whether it’ll be just as popular as the top Apple apps today.
