This week, Apple’s newly unveiled iPhone 5C goes on pre-order and this will be followed up by the sale of the iPhone 5S the week after. While we have heard Apple’s pricing policy on these devices, we’re now starting to hear more about how the big box stores will price these smartphones to drum up some business.
Walmart will be looking to offer up some deals on these devices. Take for instance, the 16GB iPhone 5C which they are planning to sell for $79 while the 16GB iPhone 5S will go for $189. In terms of savings, customers are saving $10 on the iPhone 5S and $20 on the 5C. As of tomorrow, Walmart will start to accept pre-orders and it will be on a first come basis. Once ordered, customers will be required to pick up their device by September 25th.
For the 5S, things are a little different as there will not be a pre-order period. Instead, users will need to go to a local Walmart location when the device goes on sale on September 20th.
One thing to note is that the discounted pricing that Walmart is offering is contingent upon a user signing a two year mobile plan with either Sprint, Verizon or AT&T.
