If you had the option of getting a workout while at your place of employment doing your regular duties, would you take that option? The Walkstation is the design of Dr. James Levine who back in 2005, came up with a solution to incorporate workouts while at his desk. In order to do this, he created a homemade desk that centered around a treadmill.

The treadmill moves at slow enough speeds so as to not exhaust the employee and is quiet enough to not disturb neighbors at adjacent desks. Since last November, over 335 units have been sold to companies such as Humana, Mutual of Omaha, GlaxoSmithKline and Best Buy.

Over the years, corporations have been trying a number of unique ideas and concepts to improve employee productivity. The Walkstation is one of those office gadgets that has proven to increase concentration and overall health of the user which in turn would improve productivity.
