It’s being reported that mobile telecommunications giant Vodafone will be carrying the Apple iPad in a number of countries throughout Europe including Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
What isn’t clear at this point is if the agreement between Apple and Vodafone includes an exclusivity clause or if Vodafone is just one of many companies that will ultimately be carrying the Apple tablet in a fashion similar to the iPhone which is available to most mobile carriers.
Neither pricing nor data plans have been mentioned and there also hasn’t been any indication if the device will be subsidized in any way. If subsidies are unavailable, then mobile customers could expect to pay full price for the unit but perhaps save on the monthly data charges.
