There’s nothing like legitimate and official software that comes with the blessing and support of the distributing organization. Such is now the case with the BlackBerry Bold 9700 that is connected through the Vodafone wireless network as BlackBerry OS 5.0.0.545 is now officially available for Vodafone subscribers. No longer do you need to rely upon an earlier leaked copy of OS 5.0.0.545. If you plan to upgrade to the latest and greatest, be sure to perform a full data backup prior to attempting the firmware upgrade. Even though it may be an official release, it’s not worth the risk of potential corrupt or lost data.
For those that may not be a Vodafone subscriber but want to try this OS, be sure to delete the vendor.xml prior to starting. Again, backups would be prudent and of course in these situations, the update would most likely result in you having an unsupported device.
