The first North American mobile carrier to begin carrying the HTC Legend belongs to Virgin Mobile Canada. The Canadian version is quite similar to the international release with its typical 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 480×320 pixel resolution, integrated 5MP flash camera, GPS and WiFi network connectivity.
The Canadian edition of the HTC Legend will support the 850MHz and 1,900MHz 3G wireless bands and will utilize the Android 2.1 operating system with a custom user interface. The handset also comes with a solid build featuring a unibody aluminum body. Cost of the handset is $80 CDN provisional upon a three year service contract or $350 if you go contract free. If you’d prefer another Canadian mobile carrier instead of Virgin, Bell Mobility will also offer the handset but it’s not quite clear as to their official release date as they missed their earlier estimate.
Those in the US should see the HTC Legend once a CDMA edition becomes available for the Sprint wireless network.
