Sure to get some attention this flu season is the Vioguard self sanitizing keyboard that uses ultraviolet light to kill nasty bacteria and germs such as MSRA and the H1N1 Swine Flu Virus which is expected to see a resurgence in winter.
The keyboard has the look and feel of any ordinary keyboard with the exception of one difference. This keyboard comes with it’s own decontamination chamber and at either set times or on demand, the keyboard will retract into the chamber and be cleaned with UV light. The cleaning time required to remove “superbugs” is less then 90 seconds and of course, this type of cleaning is much more thorough then using a disinfectant to clean keyboard surfaces.
The Vioguard self cleaning keyboard retails for $899 and similar to other medical keyboards, this keyboard would be most beneficial in a dental office or a medical building.
