Verizon Wireless has confirmed the worst kept secret in the business by announcing that a CDMA iPhone is on the way. Todays announcement will put some heat on AT&T as they will not only be making available the iPhone 4, but with an integrated hotspot that can accept up to five incoming devices.
Verizon did not say just how much the mobile hotspot will sell for, but to get an indication of possible charges, we only need to look at this feature which is available on their Android phones for $20. This fee is in addition to the cost of the unlimited data plan which sells for $30/month. Up until now, AT&T has had an exclusive deal on the iPhone and offered their customers this smartphone for $45/month which included tethering and a 2GB DataPro plan. The AT&T tethering option allows you to connect just a single device to the phone which is less then the Verizon plan with allows up to five WiFi devices to connect in.
