US Cellular Discounts Galaxy Tab Price To $200

US Cellular has had a couple of promotional offers to entice buyers during this holiday season. First was pricing their smartphones at free with contract and now the mobile carrier is offering deep discounts on the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The Android tablet retails for $599.99 but can now be purchased for $199.99 after a $100 mail in rebate and a $300 discount with a two year contract. US Cellular customers will also have to sign up for a 5GB data plan that begins at $55 per month.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has often been seen as a viable Android tablet alternative to the Apple iPad. It comes with a 7-inch display screen, making it a more portable device then the larger iPad. The device has a capacitive touchscreen display, is powered by a 1 GHz CPU and has a pair of cameras, one front facing and the other rear. The device runs on the Android 2.2 OS.

Right now, US Cellular is trying to maximize their year end profits, but we should soon see the Samsung Galaxy Tab discounted permanently as new tablets such as the Motorola tablet and the iPad 2 are just beyond the horizon.
