Update: Sprint iPhone 4 Is Web Only Offer

The other day, it was reported that Sprint would no longer be carrying the iPhone 4 and this information became public after literature about their overall iPhone strategy got into the wild. Well, it turns out that this information is not fully correct.

The latest on this subject suggests that customers will be able to get a free iPhone 4 with contract, but this offer will not be available through Sprint’s retail locations. Rather, users that want to take advantage of this deal will have to do so online. The iPhone 4 becomes a web only device starting on September 21st with a Sprint representative confirming that they will most definitely be “selling it”. This is certainly opposite of the original report which said that the device was going to be removed from Planogram on September 21st.

With the iPhone 4 now becoming the base model, the iPhone 3GS has been phased out. In order to get a free iPhone 4 through Sprint however, you will be required to sign a two year service contract. So there we have it, the iPhone 4 is still in play and will be an attractive device to some users that are looking for a budget friendly device. What are your thoughts, would you be interested in buying the iPhone 4?
