JailBreakMe for the Apple iPhone 4 was only recently made available and now, adding to the fun is Ultrasn0w, an unlocking tool that will allow mobile users to use their iPhone with any mobile carrier, rather then being just locked into the AT&T network. Ultrasn0w is another hacking tool that has been released by the iPhone Dev Team and is compatible with the fourth generation iPhone using baseband 01.59 as well as the iPhone 3G/3GS using basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04.

Recently, DMCA changes have legitimized this process to some extent in the sense that it is not considered illegal to unlock your iPhone, though you should research this out a little more if you are concerned about its legitimacy. However, Apple will not be pleased to hear about their user base being able to move between networks and will of course frown on this type of activity, reminding users that software tools such as this will void the manufacturers warranty.
