At the IFA 2009 trade show being held in Berlin, Sony debuted it’s Vaio X laptop. The new Sony notebook weighs just 1.5 pounds thanks to its carbon fiber frame and aluminum keyboard. Add to this the fact that the laptop includes an 11.1-inch screen and yet is just 0.55-inches thick compared to the Apple MacBook Air which is 0.76-inches thick and you have one ultraportable, ultra thin laptop.
The VAIO X will come with an Intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM, VGA output, a memory card reader, dual USB ports, integrated 3G wireless support, an all day battery and an Ethernet port.
The official launch of the new Sony laptop will be near the end of next month, just around the time that Windows 7 becomes available. Pricing for this laptop will be around $2000.
