
Lacie has introduced a new ultra portable hard drive, the Rikiki, which in french means tiny and this drive is tiny. The 2.5-inch external hard drive is said to be the thinnest yet and with measurements of 4.3-inches x 2.9-inches x 0.5-inches, the drive is even thinner then the Seagate FreeAgent line of products. Although small in physical dimensions, the portable drives are available in a variety of standard hard drive sizes including 250GB ($75), 500GB ($109), and 640B ($150).
The Rikiki comes with a brushed aluminum case that is not just an elegant finish, but is also a rugged case that is scratch resistant. The drives are also self-powered through USB 2.0 and ship with USB Boost, a Microsoft Windows feature that improves drive performance by up to 33%.
