Twitter Releases Its Own Tweet Button

Twitter announced on its blog today that it has launched its own Tweet button so as to make it easier for web users to share interesting content. The process as it stands today, consists of users reading an article and if they find the content interesting, then they would need to open a new browser tab to share the content with other Twitter users.

Of course, many website owners have already turned to third party applications to make it easier to ReTweet content, but Twitter wants to bring this process in house with their own Tweet button. For this new feature, Twitter is teaming up with TweetMeme who has had their own ReTweet button since 2009. With the new Tweet button, users will be able to share pictures and stories by just clicking the Tweet button which will bring up a pop-up box that will already include a shortened web link to the webpage that you are currently on. You will also be able to add a small blurb in your tweet if you so choose.
