Transcend has launched a new line of USB flash drives called the JetFlash 530 Flash Drive. The new drives are available in 5 different storage capacities including 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.
The flash drives have been added “for users with active lifestyles”, appealing to the growing mobile force that uses some form of a portable media solution. The drives do not take advantage of the newer USB 3.0 technology available but are USB 2.0 compatible and have a read/write speed of 32MB/s and 18MB/s respectively. They also support USB 1.1 ports though newer computers don’t include these ports in their design as they have gone the way of the 3.5-inch floppy drive.
The JetFlash 530 drives also come with a capless design, relying on a sliding USB connector. The drives range in price between 8.41 Euro and 68.40 Euro and have a lifetime warranty.
