Toshiba has confirmed their intention of launching a new line of tablet computers later this year or early next year. Unlike some hardware manufacturers that have launched tablets that cater to either the Android or Microsoft crowd, Toshiba’s game plan is to have a family of tablets that will run a variety of operating systems. Hence, you will see Toshiba tablets with Microsoft Windows 7 and others that will run on the Google Android operating system.
Of the two version of tablets to come, Toshiba has confirmed that the Android tablet will include a 10-inch touchscreen display and that it will be the cheaper of the two models. This of course would make sense as Android is an open source OS, whereas Windows 7 would require licensing fees which would of course bump up the sticker price.
That said though, the Microsoft tablet will most likely be the more powerful of the two and may come with a faster processor as well as a dual screen along the lines of the Microsoft Courier Booklet.
