Keeping up with Panasonic and Pretec, Toshiba corporation announced their own SDXC memory cards. With a maximum write speed of 35MB per second and a maximum read speed of 60MB per second, the SDXC memory card boasts the fastest data transfer speeds available on the market. The new cards are meant to address the growing need for high performance and storage capacity created by the increasing numbers of high resolution digital camcorders and cameras.
Along with the 64GB card, Toshiba will also release two additional SDHC cards that come with 16GB and 32GB of storage capacity.
The NAND flash based SDXC memory cards will ship to OEM manufacturers in November while the SDHC memory cards will ship in December. Retail sales will commence in 2010 and we are still waiting on pricing.
