Toshiba Blu Ray Player BDX2000

We knew the day would come when Toshiba, the developers of the HD DVD format would eventually design their first Blu-ray player and that wait is finally over with the announcement of the BDX2000.

What this media player has going for it is pricing. At $250, it’s a relatively cheap Blu-ray player. It does have the standard features that you’d come to expect in Blu-ray players such as 1080p output, DVD upscaling, HD, AVCHD and DivX support and HD playback directly from a connected camcorder.

However, with the low cost of this player, there are some premium features missing such as WiFi support and video streaming using a media service such as Netflix. In addition, onboard memory is noticeably absent meaning that you will need to add additional external memory via the SD card slot in order to use the BD-Live feature.
