Pick up this machine and the conversation around the office water coolers will shift from who sat on the photocopier to take pictures of themselves to have you seen the coolest gadget that converts recycled copier paper into toilet paper.

Toilet Paper - recycled photcopy paper

Priced at $95,000, this office machine is the design of Tokyo-based Nakabayashi.

It’s output capacity is two rolls of toilet paper every hour from 1,800 sheets of A4-sized paper. Considering that this would mostly end up as municipal landfill waste, recycling the paper seems to be a more ecofriendly and green initiative.

Obviously, the biggest hurdle affecting widespread use of this machine will be the capital cost for the acquisition of a unit. There is no word on operating costs but to make this machine a viable solution, these costs would have to be significantly less.
