Tyrant Alarm Clock By Alice Wang

The Tyrant Alarm Clock by Alice Wang is certainly one cruel piece of machinery, although to inflict it’s damage, you, as the owner, have to prepare it dish out punishment. We’ve seen some fun concepts when it comes to alarm clocks such as clocky and the puzzle alarm clock, but compared to the Tyrant Alarm Clock, these other two alarm clocks do not have any teeth.

With the Tyrant Alarm clock, you program a time that you want to wake up. At the appointed time, the alarm clock will ring. You are given 3 minutes of grace time within which you have to turn off the alarm clock.

Fail in your mission, and the Tyrant Alarm clock will shuffle through your contact list stored on your mobile phone and begin dialing numbers at random. Step back and think about it for a minute. Think of your own personal cell phone and the numbers stored on it. First off, I know that I wouldn’t want anyone on my contact list awoken at any time, but supposing there’s a special number on the phone such as someone you met the night before and were debating whether to call or not, if you fail to turn the alarm off, the Tyrant may just give that person a call.

You’ve got to have either a lot of confidence in your ability to turn this sucker off within the appointed time or you’ve got a rather high pain threshold from all the people that may just be looking at your number on their caller id and wondering what the heck you’re doing calling them at inappropriate times of the day.

Alice Wang certainly has a creative imagination.
