I’m not a smoker, but over the years, you can’t help but feel a bit sorry for smokers as local bylaws have gotten tougher and tougher, restricting where people can and cannot smoke. Each city is different with their bylaws, but in some cities, it’s gotten so tough that previously, smokers could smoke just outside a building, but now they have to be 50 feet or so away from a public doorway. I can understand why governments do this, it’s a method by which they can reduce second hand smoke and the diseases caused by that.
The smoker’s umbrella is obviously the design of someone who is sympathetic towards smokers, or is a smoker himself and is looking for a way to simply the habit. Standing in the rain, huddled in the cold, trying to get a puff of a cigarette just can’t be all that much fun.
At least now, you can huddle under an umbrella which has an ashtray attached to the handle of the umbrella into which you can dispense your ashes.
