Tesco Mobile iPhone – Is It Worth The Money?

Tesco Mobile Phone

We knew the Apple iPhone would be coming to Tesco Mobile, but the company was a little hush in terms of pricing. The Tesco iPhones begin flying off shelves today — the iPhone 3G 8GB one-year plan will give you 300 minutes of call time or 600 text messages, and you’ll get upgraded to the next iPhone that comes out next year.

How much for this upgrade? An extra 222 GBP, on top of the 20 GBP per month. If you take a two-year, 60 GBP per month package, the upgrade will be yours at no extra charge. With unlimited calls and texts, the two-year plan may be worth considering.

The iPhone 3GS 16GB model will be yours at 320 GBP for the same contract, and will also include the free upgrade when you sign up for two years. The 32GB Tesco iPhone model will set you back 407 GBP for the one-year plan.

Perhaps Tesco’s best selling point isn’t the price, but instead the one-year plans. Should make for an interesting gift for the holidays. Now let’s see if Vodaphone calls Tesco’s raise, or waits for the next hand.
