Just in time for Christmas, Telus Mobility has announced that they will carry the LG IQ smartphone and unlike Samsung Galaxy that was announced by Bell and is Android powered, the IQ is a Windows mobile 6.5 handset, the first for LG.
If the mobile phone has a familiar look, it’s because it is pretty much a rebranded LG eXpo that was launched in the US with AT&T. The smartphone comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, slide out QWERTY keyboard, digital fingerprint scanner and 5 megapixel camera. The device also includes 3G HSPA 850/1900 support and can support up to 16GB of memory. As it is a windows phone, native email support for Microsoft Exchange has been included.
Purchase price is set at $499.99 with no contract. Other purchase options available include a 1 year contract at $449.99, 2 years at $399.99 or 3 years at $99.99. The purchase of an LG IQ will include a stereo headset, stylus, AC charger and rechargeable battery amongst other things.
