The Toronto Dominion bank (NYSE:TD) has released a mobile banking application for the RIM (TSE:RIM) Blackberry. Simply named ‘TD’, the new app gives bank customers the ability to access “banking, investing and insurance services” directly from their handheld device.

There are three main components that make up the application and these are TD Canada Trust, TD Waterhouse and TD Insurance. TD Canada Trust will complete your everyday banking needs such as paying bills, transferring money and general information look up as it pertains to your checking and savings accounts.

TD Waterhouse is the investment arm of the app where mobile customers can get stock quotes, place stock orders and ask questions. Additionally, there is a one touch call button that will connect you with an investment adviser at the TD Waterhouse Investor Service Centre.

The last component of the app is TD Insurance which will make available insurance information at your fingertips. There is even an ‘accident toolkit’ that will walk you through the claim process if you are ever in an accident. TD refers to this as a ‘peace of mind’ feature.
