Police Officers working the beat need to be equipped with the best police equipment available and perhaps one day, the Taser Axon will become part of their standard law enforcement equipment.
Similar to an earpiece, this headcam wraps around the ear. The GPS-enabled camera is then in position to capture real time audio-video recordings, even in low lighting situations.
Some questions that still need to be answered is if this is a wireless camera or wired camera, does it have the ability to transmit footage back to police headquarters and what is the battery life on this unit? The Taser Axon will be available in the third quarter of year.
Assuming this does become standard equipment, I wonder how long before it makes it’s way onto police reality TV shows where scenes of criminals fleeing are captured in the officers POV.
