CEATEC JAPAN 2008 was the platform used by Toshiba to announce the design of a prototype battery known as SCIB (Super Charge ion Battery) which can charge a notebook battery to 90% capacity in only ten minutes.
The new prototype, once standard in notebooks will be a welcomed addition as it gives the notebook just that much more mobility and provides the owner with peace of mind that should they need to recharge the notebook, it could be done in less time then it would take to stand in line at your local coffee shop to purchase a drink.

Here’s hoping that we see one of the large laptop manufactures get on board and pick this design concept up. The solar powered laptop is a completely autonomous device that is standalone and due to being self-contained, it has no needs for any external connections.
