Nintendo Wii Fit makes USA debut Monday May 19, 2008

This is a highly anticipated product created by Nintendo. For a generation that has grown up in a digital world, this may be a perfect opportunity to introduce some exercise into their life. In fact, the Wii is the first video game to ever have been included in the President’s Challenge, a program designed by the President’s Council of Physical Fitness and Sports which places great emphasis on American fitness by promoting exercise on a daily basis.

When you first use the Wii, it will measure and record your Body Mass Index (BMI). This will be your baseline and hopefully a spring board from which you can begin your journey to physical fitness.

Wii Fit includes a variety of exercises and programs to keep you motivated. You can choose from such exercises as Downward facing dog yoga poses, twirling a virtual Hula Hoop, or performing leg extensions.

As mentioned, Wii Fit will record your progress, and as you progress, this will be reflective in the Wii on screen caricature of yourself.
