
SteelSeries, well known amongst hardcore gamers has revealed two multi-platform gaming mice and a new mousepad. The two mice are the high end Xai and the smaller Kinzu.
The Xai is an ambidextrous ergonomic mouse which according to the manufacturer took years in research and development and includes a highly accurate laser sensor that is capable of recording upwards of 5,000 CPI (or counts per inch). Some of the unique features of this mouse are the LCD on it’s underside and a small memory chip capable of storing custom settings in regards to the seven programmable mouse buttons that are OS independent. The XAI will retail for $80 US.
A cheaper mouse solution would be the Kinzu which will retail for about $35 US. This mouse is similar to the Kinzu with the exception that it supports only 3,500 CPI.
Lastly, SteelSeries has developed a new gaming surface. Expected to retail for $34, the 9HD has a textured surface of thousands of light reflecting microscopic points that are capable of detecting very small mouse movements and high velocity “slingshots”.
