Sprint (NYSE:S) has a new price on their website for the Palm (NASDAQ:PALM) Pixi after slashing prices and offering a deep discount on the mobile device. The Palm Pixi can now be picked up for just $50. The regular price on the Pixi is $349.99 and upon purchase, an instant savings of $200 is applied followed by a $100 mail-in rebate. $50 is a good deal if you don’t mind a candybar phone that lacks WiFi and has a smaller screen display then its sister phone the Palm Pre.

As a company, Palm has struggled financially as of late, dropping revenue targets as a result of poor consumer demand for Palm products with Palm’s Chief Executive Officer Jon Rubinstein commenting that “driving broad consumer adoption of Palm products is taking longer than we anticipated”.

The weekend also saw the availability of WebOS 1.4, Palm’s latest mobile operating system for both the Palm Pre and Pixi. With the new OS came video recording features to the Palm mobile phones.
