There’s bound to be a plethora of mobile devices making their debut this month at the Mobile World Congress. That was probably Sony Ericsson’s reason to unveil their new business phone, the Aspen, ahead of time. The big news? It’s the first Windows 6.5.3 handset we’re going to see.
Windows 6.5.3 is a more touch-friendly offering from the Windows Mobile line, so it should bring a unique business-phone experience to fans of Sony Ericsson. We’ll definitely know more about the new platform when the Mobile World Congress rolls around.
The Aspen itself is packed with useful features. It sports a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a full QWERTY keyboard. It’s also bound to appeal to the greener portion of the market with its power-saving features, recyclable packaging, and ecofriendly charger.
The Sony Ericsson Aspen is expected to arrive in the second quarter of this year, and should please those who’ve been waiting for a better Windows-based Sony Ericsson handset. (If you’re not one of them and would much rather wait for an Android-based SE handset, then stand by for the Sony Ericsson X10, out this Spring.)
