Sony has come out with two new 1080p HD handycams, models HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V. The new camcorders are virtually indistinguishable in terms of feature set, but differ primarily in their flash storage capacity, with the HDR-CX520V including 64GB of internal flash memory and the HDR-CX500V coming with 32GB of internal memory.
Standard to both high definition camcorders are 12-megapixels for still image photography and 1080i for video. The pair of handycams will also include an internal GPS system for geotagging, an optical image stabilization system, and an easy touchscreen interface that is said to be an improvement over earlier renditions.
Expect the two Sony camcorders to retail this September. MSRP for the HDR-CX500V and the HDR-CX520V will be $1,100 and $1,300 respectively.
