Starting in late September, Sony will begin shipping it’s Cyber-shot DSC T500. This model adds HD movie recordings, something that consumers are starting to demand. Using the MPEG4 AVC/H.264 codec allows Sony to offer high quality recordings and at the same time, keep file sizes small, thereby allowing easier transfer and download.
The T500 will have the capacity to perform 10 minutes of continuous recordings. One of the features of this camera include the dual video and camera mode. While in this mode, a user can continue with video recording, but at the same time, is able to capture 3 still pictures without affecting the video.
Once shipping begins, pricing is anticipated to be about $400 USD.
