Over time, we’ve seen some really crazy gadgets such as the R/C Dead Fred Zombie and the Coffin Car, but from the world of practicality, here’s a gadget that I like quite a bit. Called the SunTable, this device is a solar table that harnesses the energy of the sun to keep your gadgets running.

Designed by Devang A. Shah and Mike Low of Brooklyn, New York, the SunTable was designed with two principals in mind, ease of use and low impact. Placed out in the sun, this weather resistant solar table will begin to store backup energy. This energy can then be used to power up any gadget under the sun that you can think of, including cell phones, radios, lights, and laptops. In fact, a charged battery will provide enough draw for 4 hours of laptop life.

This table has no moving parts, which just further adds to it’s ease of use and stability. Being water resistant, no need to worry about rain and in fact you can simply hose it down to clean it.
