The Tokyo based electronic retailer Otas has released a lithium ion based 3G iPhone battery that contains an additional solar panel. Called the LC-1500, a full charge of the battery by means of solar power requires 13 hours. This is not quite as efficient as charging the mini-battery through USB which takes only 3 hours. However, it does provide you with an alternative method of charging an iPhone battery should you be stuck outdoors and not have access to your normal amenities. Priced at $60, this iPhone Battery includes a leather case, measures 125×64×25 mm in size and has a weight of 100 grams.
