Sometimes it takes a forward thinker such as Sheila Kennedy of KVA Matx to really open the eyes of developers as to just how much potential there is in household architecture to incorporate renewable energy sources into home designs.
Sheila Kennedy and her team are experts in integrating solar power with architecture and have been working on a Soft House, a home that generates 16,000 watt-hours of electricity from household curtains that have been converted into solar cells.
Now that’s an impressive amount of electricity, and should be good to power some of those energy demanding gadgets that we all love.
At this time, the Soft House is still in the development stage as the cost to bring the solar curtains to the market is cost prohibitive, but this certainly is a design concept with merit.
