Sol Air Portable Charger

Industrial designer, Clarisse Paula Fernando, has designed a portable device charger that is eco-friendly and doubles as an alarm clock. Sol-Air uses wind energy and converts it into electricity that is stored in the built in battery. You just have to place the device near an open window to capture the wind power. When there is insufficient wind, you can manually wind it to charge your portable devices. A cell phone can be charged with just five minutes of winding.

Sol-Air also has a photo-luminescent casing which captures the sun’s energy and glows after dark, although in this case, the solar energy is not converted into electricity. In today’s world with so many portable devices, it is nice to have a green device to charge your gadgets that doesn’t tax your electrical bill.
