Apple’s Mac OS X 10.6.7 update has been expected over the past few weeks and finally, the update is now available for installation.
According to the notice that has been put out, the new version is a recommended update for anyone that is running Mac OS X Snow Leopard as it includes fixes and patches that will address the stability, compatibility and security of your operating system. One of the big changes to be seen and highlighted with Mac OS X 10.6.7 has to do with Back to My Mac which is an application that hasn’t received a lot of attention by Apple over the past couple of updates. The update also fixes a problem with transferring files to some SMB servers which could come in handy for Mac users that work in a predominately Windows environment.
The update, when downloaded through Software Update has a file size of 312MB and after the apply has been done, a restart of the Mac is required. Like all updates, it is always a good practice to ensure that you have a reliable and current backup available.
