Social Networkers Have Access to New Nokia Smartphone

Nokia Surge Smartphone

Nokia and AT&T have announced a new smartphone that targets the heavy texting social networking population.

For those who enjoy staying constantly connected to social network sites such as FaceBook, Twitter, and YouTube, the Nokia Surge, a Symbian-powered mobile phone, sports a horizontally sliding QWERTY keyboard. JuiceCatcher, a program that enables video and photo sharing directly from the phone to social networks, is also preloaded.

There are a number of other features that are available with the Nokia Surge S60 which include the ability to receive corporate email and receive email from web-based providers that include Yahoo and Gmail. Via Nokia’s Ovi store, users will be able to add additional applications to their phone.

In regards to price, the S60 will be launching on July 19, 2009 with a cost of $79.99 that comes after a two-year AT&T contract and a rebate. With such features as a full HTML browser with flash support, downloadable applications, and a complete email solution, this smartphone will keep social networkers connected with their virtual world.

In addition, the handset is complete with a 2-megapixel camera, expandable memory via a microSD slot, and stereo Bluetooth.
