Slacker Radio, an internet radio service that was previously available for the iPhone and Blackberry is now available for those that have an Android smartphone. The application is available as a free download through the Android market.
Available only in the US, Slacker Radio allows users to setup personalized music stations based upon your musical tastes (IE favorite songs, artists and preferred musical genres). Users will have access to a wealth of music options as the Slacker music library literally consists of millions of songs by thousands of artists, so you can feel confident that major label artists as well as niche music should be represented. Customers will also have the ability to listen to any of the 100 or so music stations that are dedicated to specific genres of music.
Slacker Radio is available in two versions. There is the free version that won’t cost you an extra cent. However, a $3.99 monthly subscription fee opens the world of music giving you access to “Radio Plus” service that includes commercial free, unlimited song requests and music skipping.
