Skype VoIP iPhone App Updated For Multitasking

If there was just one iPhone application that warranted Apple allowing applications to run in the background, it would have to be Skype. Apple did their part with their iOS release which introduced multitasking support.

Now it was up to Skype to update their iPhone application to take advantage of this new feature and the time has finally come. Skype has confirmed a new release of their app for iOS. If you receive a call and the Skype application is in the background, you will see a notification advising you of the incoming call and you can then choose to either answer the call or close the prompt.

Along with this, Skype has also confirmed that they have had a change of heart and will not charge for Skype to Skype calls that are made over a 3G network connection but you will still be responsible for SkypeOut charges that are made from Skype to non-Skype.
